Ted Talk - Paul Stamets: 6 Ways Mushrooms Can Save the World

Hello friends and fellow mushroom lovers!

Who doesn't love a good Ted Talk?! Today we want to share 6 Ways Mushrooms Can Save the World, Paul Stamets's fascinating Ted Talk. Stamets, a brilliant and renowned mycologist who lives here in the Pacific Northwest, "believes that mushrooms can save our lives, restore our ecosystems and transform other worlds."

The 17 minutes you'll spend watching or listening to this talk will leave you feeling encouraged by and inspired about the capacity of fungus to improve the health of our planet and its inhabitants. Stamets's talk is based on main ideas from his book, Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World, and dives into fungus's incredible ability to help with, among other things, environmental contamination, oil spills, radiation, and human disease.

One of our favorite parts of growing fresh, delicious culinary mushrooms for you here at Cellar Mushrooms is witnessing the incredible (and incredibly speedy!) process of mycelial growth. It's endlessly fascinating to try to wrap our heads around the fact that the process we're facilitating at our little farm is being facilitated by Mother Nature under our feet, every day, all day and night, all around the world for the health and thriving of our planet.

Happy learning!

Peace,

Your Cellar Mushrooms team
